Drown to Life | 3D World
This is a great animation concept based on the artist’s pen giving life to its creations. Very smooth!
Mastering the ability to bring a piece to life is a tricky part of illustrative art. Instead of spending years perfecting the skill, Mauro Affronti decided to take a shortcut and use 3D software to bring his 2D designs alive.
His new short, Drown To Life, tells the tale of a drawing that comes to life when left by its creator. The story opens with an artist working on a sketch of a large man in the midst of strangling a small orphan boy. When the illustrator leaves the room, a drop of ink from his pen falls onto the boy’s head, magically bringing him and his big companion to life. As the boy tries to escape, he gets kicked into the world of 3D with his captor in hot pursuit.
